Testing platforms - Karl Ranseier - 03-25-2010 It might be useful for the developers to know on which platforms non-devs will be able to test the first Xonotic release. I can test on:
RE: Testing platforms - Ang - 03-25-2010 Mine:
RE: Testing platforms - norbert79 - 03-25-2010 Mine: - Asus EeePC 701 4G - Intel Core 2 Duo 5500 with Nvidia 9XXX series and 2 GB of RAM RE: Testing platforms - Exitium - 03-25-2010
+ a unknown laptop, which I'm going to buy in a few months. DISREGARD THAT and some dogfood: running win version under wine in linux.... most systems modded quite heavy, so no guarantee to be comparable with similar ones.......... but arent all linux systems that way? RE: Testing platforms - Erusavion - 03-25-2010 This seems more like a bragging rights thread. With that said, -Ubuntu/arch linux -Windows 7 Professional RE: Testing platforms - Karl Ranseier - 03-25-2010 It wasn't intended to be a bragging rights thread. Rather to give the devs an idea what hardware/software combinations willing testers among the community have. RE: Testing platforms - Erusavion - 03-25-2010 I understand, I was only joking. It is a good idea. =) RE: Testing platforms - Silica Gel: Do Not Eat - 03-25-2010 Will Xonotic Support older Windows operating systems? Like Windows 2000 I have some old clunkers I could use to test with. RE: Testing platforms - Erusavion - 03-25-2010 I'm sure it will. It should be just as flexible as Nexuiz was. RE: Testing platforms - master[mind] - 03-25-2010 Vista x64 Service Pack 2 - ATI Integrated Piece of Junk Yeah...I'm working on getting a new card. I'm waiting for the GTX 400 series. Custom kernel build Edit: I got 2 crappy machines too... PIII 800/900mhz One with: 512mo Ram, Crappy radeon 7500 WinXP The other one with: 384mo ram Geforce 6200 Debian Sid Those last 2 computers may not go on frequent testing, getting and maintaining the git on them would be a pain! RE: Testing platforms - Lee_Stricklin - 04-06-2010 Just wanted to add that in addition to the specs I posted, I will probably have something REALLY REALLY OLD SCHOOL floating around in the future since I plan on building a rig to play all my legacy stuff (MechWarrior 2 in particular) the way they were intended. I haven't built it yet, but this is what I'm aiming for: OS: Windows 95 CPU: Intel Pentium II 350MHz VGA: A pair of 3dfx Voodoo 2's, an AGP ATI 3D Rage Pro, and an S3 Virge RAM: 32MB DIMM I also have a Commodore 64 lying around, but I know damn well that it wouldn't be able to handle Quake, Nexuiz, or Xonotic so that's out of the question. RE: Testing platforms - Taximus - 04-22-2010 Xonotic up on my server, I'll be opening it if I can, experiencing problematic performance now, even on the local network... |
