Paras balance cfg - _para - 12-08-2010

i wanted to make a different balnce.cfg

so i changed the most weapons and the health/armor regen/rot
i used the nexcharge feature to make it more useless for campers
the selfdamage percent is lower

so you start with 20 armor and 150 life

the armor will regenerate up to 10 and the health to 60 (but quite fast) after 4 sec i think 4 sec are good in such a fast game

the laser frequency is a bit faster and it will push you a bit more

but i made the electro less godlike in premary

so the weapons are a bit better but ur life will regenerate faster
and the maximum health and armor is 200

Tried it on DM and CTF.

A tactic I noticed emerging while I was playing is this: Jump into action, fight till your down to about 20hp, jump out (20 is enough to laser out if needed) grab some ammo while you wait for health, then jump back in when restored...
Don't know if this is good or bad, but I liked it Big Grin

The armor should try to come back to 20 (10 isn't really noticeable).

The laser jump height is perfect.

I would like to see this though:

Right now it's 100, which is ridiculously low, also I think it would make sense to have all the

set the same, it's just weird to have them different.

And

set g_pickup_healthsize_anyway
needs to be the same for all as well, I don't care if it's 1 or 0.

Maybe I'll just make my own balance.cfg instead of telling you how to make yours Tongue

Yes, I think we need more balances to choose from.

Interesting approach, that would fit my kind of dance-about like playing style. I usually try to move around a map randomly as fast as possible and to hit my opponent hard and by surprise on-the-fly and then run away again. Sounds fun, but I am a bit worried about the balance ecosystem that is flourishing on this forum. Soon we'll need a powerful lawn mower for getting an overview.

yes i know here are very much(/many idk) cfgs but they are not so different

and the 20-health-jumpout is not really possilbe i think 1 hit with a weapon would kill you but i dont like it to seach for health 60 health and 10 ammo are good to take some damage but a charged nex or a rl will kill you fast

I agree that we need more balance configs to work with and test out.
I'm setting up a balance test server soon and I plan to have as many balance configs on there as I can find.
I don't know why this is posted under editing/concept art though. Moving it to Development forum.

lol or its the short form from paraGON^^
or a place in asturian or a district and a river in suriname or a river in russia or a currency in turkey,serbia,... or shortform for weapons with 9*19 PARAbellum munition or the para-cammander parachute or ParĂ¡ a federal state in brazil or the Rio ParĂ¡ river in brazil and much more :p

no it was an idea to make a different health-thingy (inspired by mass effect 2) but my aim is not really to give you the finished thing i give you a part and look what the community do with this and inspire them(you all) i mean its an communtiy project or not?!
