Parkour Awesomeness (Should be in Xonotic) - Vael - 05-01-2010 I know it would be waaaay too much work to do, but it would be cool if you could do parkour stuff in Xonotic. It would require an insane amount of animation work, but I just got the idea from this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNvJy0zoXOY Anyways, we can all have our dreams. PEW PEW! RE: Parkour Awesomeness (Should be in Xonotic) - Rad Ished - 05-01-2010 Heh, I do all this stuff on the way home from a night out drinking. And I can fly. He does no flying at all. ... Other than that awesome vid, thanks ![]() RE: Parkour Awesomeness (Should be in Xonotic) - clanclanclan - 05-01-2010 And everyone will need two of these to control it: ![]() I'm not sure if my budget stretches to 17 buttons ![]() RE: Parkour Awesomeness (Should be in Xonotic) - Vael - 05-02-2010 Nah, it would be way easier just to randomize the animation based on how high you go. Maybe a different selection for jumps from jumppads. Still a lot of work for graphic artists though, and not something I'd want to try to force in the game. Reminds me of Mirror's Edge! RE: Parkour Awesomeness (Should be in Xonotic) - rainerzufalldererste - 07-23-2010 that's freerunning! not parkour! ![]() RE: Parkour Awesomeness (Should be in Xonotic) - Roanoke - 07-23-2010 Yes, if only. But we've always got trickjumps ![]() RE: Parkour Awesomeness (Should be in Xonotic) - .Danny. - 03-30-2012 (07-23-2010, 07:28 AM)rainerzufalldererste Wrote: that's freerunning! not parkour! What´s the difference between free running and parkour? Hmm I honestly like the idea Vael. Ultimately it would be up to whomever handles animation. The problem is that xonotic NEEDS more animators atm and I´m not sure how high up the priority list freerunning/parkour animations would be purely on asthetic value. Although on the bright side I think everything that needs animation is a matter of asthetic anyway so it might have just as much merit as other animations wanted in xonotic. ![]() RE: Parkour Awesomeness (Should be in Xonotic) - Shadowman84 - 03-30-2012 (03-30-2012, 01:15 PM).Danny.
