Randomly Occuring Black Maps - Faraday - 12-29-2012 Fairly frequently when I go to play any game type the maps load as normal until I begin to play. The maps are completely black and unplayable. I use a limited windows vista account. SPECS : NVIDIA GTS 450 Q8300 Quad Processor 2.5GHz 8 GB RAM I'm attaching the configs I use - hopefully I just made a mistake in those and this will all be fixed. the faraday2.cfg is autoexe'd into my game at startup. RE: Randomly Occuring Black Maps - Mirio - 12-29-2012 Delete the specific map from your dlcache and rejoin the server. If it's still black, then the map download from this server could be broken. If it occurs at official maps I have no clue. I've tried deleting my dlcache and rejoining, but that doesn't work at all. RE: Randomly Occuring Black Maps - Mr. Bougo - 12-29-2012 Have a look at your console log (shift escape). It should say something when it tries to download a file. Perhaps the server is giving you a wrong address which results in a 404 error. You can dump the console in a text file using the condump command: condump blablabla.txt will dump the console in blablabla.txt in your data directory. Join a server, do a condump, and have a look at that by yourself or attach it in this thread. EDIT: Demos also contain the map download information, so if you have a demo of a failing map you can zip it up and post it as attachment here. |
