[CTF] Vinegar - SpiKe - 03-29-2015

Hello,

Here's my second attempt to make a map ^^
I tried to put more life & more details than on my previous map, following the advice that were given to me back then (thanks Justin!).

Vinegar is intended to be a very small and very simple CTF map, with a lava pool in the central room, for 2v2 or 3v3 CTF games.

Thanks to Mirio & the [BOT] clan for their awesome feedback, they're always the first ones to test my maps! Big Grin

Checked it out (not in MP), its kinda like mini hydroxon.
Could be interesting but probably spammy.
What about moving rocket launchers to the center of the map and nexes hovering above lava?

I had Hydroxon in mind when I started this map, indeed Smile
I may give your idea a try (weapons hovering above lava is a good idea), but maybe two nexes in such a small map won't work very good.

No, it has critical differences to Egg,nBacon. Eggnbacon is a plain box this is a map.

Small update, nothing fancy (download link was updated in the first post).

Updates in vinegar_v1r2:
- The floor texture in blue base was red... it's fixed now.
- Replaced Machinegun with Crylink, and moved Machinegun outside the base.
- Added bot waypoints.

New version, Vinegar_v2 (download link in the first post).

What's new:
- The map is a bit longer, two side rooms have been added (new Rocket Launcher location).
- The Machinegun is now hovering above lava on a platform.
- The Vortex has been removed from the bridge (for balance reasons) and has been replaced by a Quad.
- More spawnpoints.
- Tiny other changes.

Thanks to those who gave me some feedback before, I hope this one is better than the previous version! ^^

I got to play this neat map today, it reminds me of the bottom half of Deck-16 Smile

Hello,

First of all, thanks a lot to the Overkill folks who play this map! Most games on vinegar are played on Overkill servers Smile

Here's a new version, VINEGAR_V3 (download link and screenshots are updated in the first post).

What's new:

- New roof
- Added some rocks in the lava pool
- Brush cleanup (merged a lot of brushes + use detail brushes)
- Ambient sound

The map and item layouts didn't change, they are exactly the same as before. This release is all about adding details and cleaning brushes ^^
