How do I get started with Darkplaces Development? - GoldenThumbs - 10-16-2018 So, I'm very new to Quake modding and Xonotic modding. My goal is to make a standalone game with Darkplaces like Xonotic. In order to achieve that goal I figure I'll need to work with the engine more. So... How do I get started? What resources do I need? You'll need NetRadiant for mapping, FTEQCC for QuakeC scripting, and a good text editor for coding. Check out Inside3D, QuakeOne forums, and Xonotic’s GitLab for resources and tutorials. Start with small mods before moving to standalone development.
