Just as a place where we can get together and chat as members of the community. I know a lot of people here are still playing Nexuiz, and it's kinda sad that we can't all play together.
I would suggest something along the lines of a "Xonotic Community Server" on Nexuiz temporarily until we can get a real working beta of our own.

your ping is simply to high if you live in europe and play on a australian server.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't Xonotic and Nexuiz both use DP7, and therefore should be compatible?
I don't see the problem with playing and chatting on Nexuiz servers. As far as I know, most if not all the popular public servers are run by people who are either closely involved in Xonotic development or have shown support of it.
Connecting to xonotic servers with nexuiz is, atm, impossible. I don't know about the reverse though.
Yeah, forget the whole idea.
All my favorite servers are actually going to jump to Xonotic anyhow, and most support Xonotic when people are playing.
I'am playing Nexuiz. Still waiting for Xonotic first release. Once it happens - I'am gonna switch

Xpm-race servers work with both nexuiz and xonotic for the moment. Which is great is you can strafe
funny thing about this xonotic race server is, that in server browser it shows 9999 ping all the time
for some time I was thinking something is wrong with the server, that it`s broken, maybe there are some tests or sth, but then I connected to it and, surprise, everything works well. This server browser is a bloody liar
back to topic (not to go offtopic too much lol...), one community server is not very good idea because of, mentioned some posts before, ping issue between continents.
