The only individual here I am sure I have interacted with is Divverent who I think of as "div0" -- back in 2006 div0 helped me and RocketGuy who needed a specific Linux Quake engine server compiled -- I still remember how grateful we were for the assistance.

Anyway, for anyone interested ...

Zircon Galaxy is a single player / cooperative mod that uses Xonotic textures/models/sounds.  The mod is a very interactive single player experience with inventory, vehicles and a ton of other enhancements.

Anyone who is interested in extreme coding may find some of the features in Zircon Galaxy interesting.  It does 15 to 20 very difficult things that I think other coders will get a kick out of -- it does some things to really leverage some DarkPlaces features -- some you should notice just from the video.

Anyway, thank you for listening.
Wow very cool! I'll give it a test drive! Nice promo video too!
Thanks.

The next screenshot / video might have the funniest but coolest feature yet.

This feature might be done tomorrow.

Wow nice work. But this can never run from Xonotic, or can it?

We will see, I need to keep working on it.

There is a chance it might "eat" part of Xonotic gameplay eventually.

So I guess the answer to what you are thinking is "maybe".

My first stage is trying to solidify a single player campaign, get a mapping package out, test/harden cooperative play.

And then look at the player vs. player.

I want to grow this in a way that can attract and keep casuals (and mappers!)  first interested and then at some point "blow the horn" on player vs. player in deathmatch-like modes.

I am hoping to have a mapping set available by Monday or Tuesday.  At least an initial one.

I have a "plan" to do all of this in very specific stages to slowly molt in a broad final form.

(Do you mean could an Xonotic client connect to it? It might/probably. I hadn't thought much about that angle, but maybe I'll do some thinking on what this would be like as a folder in Xonotic. I'd have to rework some stuff, might be worthy goal. That's a pretty good idea, really. If it can be done. )
Yes, after some testing I can make it so Xonotic clients can connect to it.

I will have to rework some of the folder structure.

And the size of my work here is too large to expect it a client can download it.

But my tests indicate if I restructure some, it can be say a "zircon" folder in the Xonotic folder. Someone in Xonotic with my m work installed could switch to just by typing "gamedir zircon" or likely "connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" if that server runs this.
Hm, I am not sure, but I was asking because then you could offer your game from the Xonotic server list.

This would be very interesting.

Check out my thread on free servers.
I'm putting doing some form of that on my todo list.
Zircon Engine Alpha 10 (a modification of DarkPlaces)

Full mouse driven menu, select/cut/copy/paste/undo in console and 36 new enhancements in latest version.

Later this month, I hope to have a total conversion players vs. monsters Xonotic server mod available.

I think I have enough total conversion resources to do this with Nazi Zombies Portable giving me a green light to use their self-made resources in Zircon projects.
