RE: Ask your questions about Xonotic here - Mepper - 05-04-2012 Afaik the normal Xonotic is completely v2. If you make a merge request you have to agree with v2, I thought there was no option for making it GPL v3. RE: Ask your questions about Xonotic here - Maddin - 05-04-2012 But there is the GPLv3 document in the package, there has to be a reason for this. RE: Ask your questions about Xonotic here - Mr. Bougo - 05-04-2012 Actually, if you read the COPYING file, it says Xonotic is licenced under GPLv2 with the "v2 or later" clause. Which is why the GPLv3 is included as well, because Xonotic as a whole can be released as GPLv3 in compliance with the GPLv2's "or later" clause. Other GPLv2 projects don't have this "or later" clause, I guess that makes them incompatible with GPLv3. RE: Ask your questions about Xonotic here - Maddin - 05-05-2012 So is it possible to contribute GPLv3 licensed files to Xonotic? RE: Ask your questions about Xonotic here - Mr. Bougo - 05-05-2012 No, because then we would not be able to release Xonotic as GPLv2 or later. It would have to be GPLv3. Talk to merlijn or divVerent about this, I personally don't know why Xonotic is sticking with GPLv2 or later. RE: Ask your questions about Xonotic here - Maddin - 05-05-2012 But isn´t the term "... or later" referring to v3? I´m confused... RE: Ask your questions about Xonotic here - Mr. Bougo - 05-05-2012 From the GPL's terms ("version" there refers to the license's version) Code: Each version is given a distinguishing version number. If the Program A project released under "GPLv2 or later" can be considered to be GPLv2 or GPLv4 or any future GPL license. A project released under "GPLv3" can not be interpreted as GPLv2, its use and redistribution must comply with the GPLv3 terms. You can choose to re-release or fork a "GPLv2 or later" project under GPLv3 terms, but you can not do the opposite. Tournament Threads in Wrong Section? - Loafers - 05-25-2012 Shouldn't they go in "Xonotic - Tournaments"? Or is that not allowed because they are not "Official"? RE: Tournament Threads in Wrong Section? - Cortez666 - 05-25-2012 if they would be in the wrong section Mr.Bougo already would move them RE: Tournament Threads in Wrong Section? - W4RP1G - 05-25-2012 (05-25-2012, 03:23 PM)Loafers Wrote: Shouldn't they go in "Xonotic - Tournaments"? RE: Ask your questions about Xonotic here - Mirio - 05-29-2012 No - the hitbox is the same, but you are probably harder to hit for others, because usually you aim at the model. ![]() RE: Ask your questions about Xonotic here - Chryyz - 05-29-2012 (05-29-2012, 05:26 PM)Mirio Wrote: No - the hitbox is the same, but you are probably harder to hit for others, because usually you aim at the model.
