I recommend 720p because the quality sucks mostly Tongue

Anyone knows whether the move speed has somewhat representative of the Xonotic 1st release?
If by "1st release" you mean the beta, I guess you could expect this kind of speed, yes... Although the acceleration in that video seems a little insane, he might have been using his own physics settings for this video...
cool feature.
Cool indeed.
Awesome, would love to have a look at the .map and see how it is done Big Grin
Experimental stuff, you'll need tZorks branch "tzork/ents-onoff".
Come to IRC, I'll gladly help and explain it.
really nice work, that looks indeed intresting Smile
For a lot of fail, and/or sneak preview of min_ctf1: Starship Fear, please go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YoosD3QBiU

*spoiler alert (highlight to uncover): The common/neutral/yellow/whatever area is totally bugged.
Thats ctf? Smile
It looks intresting, the teleport-effect is cool!
@Debugger: Yeah, it's ctf, but I added few deadmatch spawns, since that's how it was done in OpenArena. Also, it's because I didn't add entities to the blue zone, just the brushwork.
The teleport effect (you mean the wormhole entrance?) was done using Spyrogimp + Supernova combination. All saved as TGA *without* compression setting on. Still glitches, though.
In case if you didnt know it, you can easily record stuff in this game. Just open a demo and typein in the console "cl_capturevideo 1" (0 for stopping of course). You can also bind those commands, so you dont have to open the console while recording. The final video will be in a folder called videos inside the data folder. Please note that the file will be quiet large if you recorded it as .avi (it will be standartly a .ogg file, which is way smaller iirc).
thanks for the tip!

Very crappy first version of the tutorial, I'm going to pretty much remake it soon.
Music should be way quieter, perhaps even removed.
Woah, isn't it "xo-notic" instead of "xy-notic"? Tongue

Dude your voice along with that crappy mic sounds like it would suit the Erebus model really well.

The mic is crappy indeed. But I've watched tutorials with worse voice-over. I'd say this one is between 'average' and 'not that bad, but'.
looks good Fis. Keep it up.

Indeed. I am excited to see this movie.

IMO you should edit that voice with some kind "mechanical" effect, for example how it sounds in Portal.
I'm fighting a losing battle with Avidemux lol
Watch in 480p and use pop out if you have. My next set of videos hopefully won't be FUBAR'd.

I decided a few days ago that I was going to start making a singleplayer map, there's a lot of talk about singleplayer in Xonotic but I thought I'd dive in myself.
Being a complete newbie I think it's a decent start.

Sorry about the extreme speed of the video, I was in a hurry to record it. I'll record a better one soon.

Now that looks cool. That map reminded me of an idea I had for the singleplayer as well where the physics evolve over the game to represent your character becoming more bad ass to the point of being able to move at around the same speed as with my physics. The same could be done with the balance as well. Oops I'm going off topic, nice work the map looks pretty cool. I can imagine some LOADED-style shoot'em up in there.
