nifrek did a good job summarizing things. This thread is on the border of being flamebait. No one is trying to ruin your past experience. Xonotic has evolved on a new path but I certainly don't feel it's gone backwards from Nexuiz. Playing it at first, there is a difference but going back to Nexuiz after a while, and you'll feel a similar difference but that's not necessarily bad, it's different and unusually.
The movement in Xonotic took me a second but just as with Nexuiz, I grew to understand the beauty of the movement and how to get the most out of it. I cannot say any other game makes me feel the same way as Xonotic's physics, they are unique and very fun.
This is just the beginning, the physics and the balance are still being fine-tuned.
