So I'm really impressed that every single "hello" post in this forum has replies (I haven't actually gone through them all ) Good community.
My nick is Swithin, I'm from Seattle, and I've played Nexuiz occasionally since about 08 or 09, I think. I've played *very* little online, but I might get more into Xonotic.
Anyway, my best experience with Nexuiz was mostly at LAN parties. A friend of mine was really into it, got me to play with him a bit, and then we found out it was great for getting people with all different kinds of rigs and experience together. Haven't played very many times yet, but I hope we'll get some parties going in the coming year (speaking of which, if there's ever a get-together around Seattle, I'd be game.)
In the meanwhile, that friend and I (who both like FPSes and have an interest in game design) started discussing Nexuiz as a sort of case-study, going over weapon balancing, movement options, etc: much more theoretical than practical (on my end at least, he plays more than I do,) but still fun. I've considered joining the forums and posting some of my thoughts several times, but I've been busy finishing up school and doing other stuff and decided not to get invested. I thought the survey was a great move on the devs' part, and it got me thinking about all those old conversations again... so here I am.
Anyway, hi, and I hope to play with you guys soon!
