Hey. I kinda like that name, it's better to pronounce then nexuiz 
I want to make a new theme song :

35 seconds until the first bass, nothing catchy, just getting heated up... Not good for a theme song. Anyway, I like the song, but we need something less cliched in my opinion.

I think that xonotic will be as fast placed as nexuiz so I think it is appropriate to have a fast theme song to.

It needs more character to be a theme song. It's too bland right now. Make it stand out. A theme song is something that should be remembered (and infused in the head even when people don't want it ;p).

Now that youtube one is more like it. It's very good, very soothing. If people would want it then sure why not, if you'd be willing to give it to Xonotic that is.

We have a couple people in mind for working on the intro song (if that is what is meant by this thread).
If you want to get involved in contributing sounds or music that comes with the game (like in maps or whatever) then talk to mand1nga, tZork, CubeOwl (aka C.brutail), merlijn, morphed... or myself and we'll get you up-to-speed on the music and sound development plans.

One thing to keep in mind for musicians wanting to contribute to Xonotic...
The intro music isn't the only music that is useful for the game. We have maps that often come with their own music and many community mappers will be making maps that could use music along with it. There are also demo videos that various community members might make, and they would certainly want music to go with those.

Just thought of something cool. This may not be the best song for the menu because it may not set the right tone, but I've seen in the suggestion box that there should be some sort of codex that explains the game (backstory, weapon documentation, technology, etc.) this track would be PERFECT if used in a spot like that.

Actually I was referring to the first one (the one titled Xonotic), I didn't know there was a second one until I read further into the thread.

Speaking of music, is blkrbt on board with the fork? I always thought his tracks were perfect for Nexuiz.

I don't even know if Mike (that's blkrbt's real name) knows about the fork, or for that matter if he's going to make music for Xonotic. Perhaps one should contact him (I could if no one else wants to) and ask him. But of course, I would only do that if I got the ok from the team management, I hear many musicians want to make music and I don't want people to compete too much and feel left out, then they leave for good.
We should first work with the current ones that has offered to help. I do believe the team management has something in mind for this. I'll just wait for their response.

Ok, sorry for being slow... This one is great, it's smooth is calm, it fits perfectly to a main menu. I would be happy having this as opening tune.
(Maybe a bit tuning would be nice, like not repeating the same melody 4-5 times, but in general I would say 9/10)
It was so far the only enjoyable music so far

Dunno, it's too relaxed for me. Nothing tells this is an insane fast game, or anything...
Imho the war§ow themesong is very nice, maybe something like that, but more faster, more bpm.
