4v4 TDM Tourney #1

It's time to try 4v4 TDM again (after that NC disaster)! But this time with premade teams, that sign up in this thread.

1. General

Join #reversioncup

1.1 Group Stage

- 2 groups á 3 teams
- Top 2 advance to Semifinals
- Best of 3

1.2 Playing

Group Stage
- Best of 3 (Bo3) (= 2 map wins needed)
- Heads/Tails-> Cointoss + Pick-Pick-Drop-Drop-Drop-Drop -> If it ends 1:1 the remaining map is the decider. No draws possible.

Playoffs
- Best of 5 (Bo5) (= 3 map wins needed)
- Heads/Tails-> Cointoss + Pick-Pick-Pick-Pick-Drop-Drop -> If it ends 2:2 the remaining map is the decider. No draws possible.


1.3 Duration


Group Stage: 1st November 2014 until 24th November 2014
Semifinals: 24th November 2014 until 1st December 2014


1.4 Demos
Admins can ask a player to give them their demos. If a player refuses to give them, a warn will be issued.

1.5 Registration
You can register from NOW until 31st October 2014 by posting here!

Post your full line up and a team captain.

Team may consider of more than 4 players, but you can not switch to another team after sign up closed!

If you don't have a team yet, just post here and we will try to find mates for you.

2. Matches organisation

2.1 How-to
Simple: Talk to your opponent and play it on one of the official servers.

3. In game play

3.1 Game format
- 4v4 TDM (XPM/Rev)
- Timelimit: 20
- Fraglimit: 0

3.2 Mappool

Atelier, Breath, Bromine, Dreadful Place, Monstrosity, Rush, Voll Aufs Maul

A match has to be played again if the players did not play it on one of these maps.

3.3 Substitutes

A team may substitute a player in a match between the maps, who is part of the signed up lineup.

3.4 Forfeiting

You may forfeit during a match of course, without getting penalties.

Map pool is quite big Mirio, why not remove two of the quake maps like deep inside / dreadful place?

+1 to kojn's suggestion, would love to see more games on bromine/grudge/etc, and no one plays vociferous anymore btw so voting for the rest of the maps!

afterslime a bit too chaotic for 4v4 if you ask me, but i really dont mind about the maps here, i quite like all on 4v4 <3 but voted for my personal top7 still =)

I think at least Atelier and Dreadful Place should stay, will be hard enough to develop a halfway decent teamplay on 5 new maps within two weeks, especially considering that there aren't a lot of opportunities to play due to the low amount of teams.

I would also drop Afterslime.

I think you could remove Afterslime, The Edge At least.

I think you could make it 5 maps (or 7) Max to start off with, then look to go to 7 or 8 maps.

Like asyyy said, too many maps to learn there at the moment for decent 4v4tdm.

It will be a 7 maps mappool? Wtf. Therefore you vote for your favourites/best/known/etc .
The poll just got all possible maps.
The mappool is decided by the participants this way, which is the most fair option instead of forcing something.

Also: Every map is +1 years old except for Bromine (6 months). But if you are inactive, then you don't know them.

Then again, it's pick-pick, so choose your favourite there and drop the 'bad' ones if needed.

Better few teams that actually play the scheduled matches than a lot of players that fail to show up or even to agree on a date and thereby ruin the entire thing. I hope we won't have this sort of deja vu this time!

Before the NC, there was no 4v4 TDM in Xonotic at all. Organizing 6 national teams that played their matches out of nothing was not so bad, considering the limited playerbase. It takes a great effort to start something new, especially in this community where the support is not always as you would wish it to be. But ok, either you understand it or you don't, cba to argue about it.

We're really not communicating on a compatible protocol it seems. I was in no way discrediting the people that set up the thing (nor of course the people that actually played) but only the folks that failed to show up despite registering, some of which did not even care to be available for agreeing on a playing date.

My point was that the NC is one of the reasons why you have "premade" teams playing 4v4 TDM now.

Could you sign me up as looking for a team.

NC was not fail, it's bring CF to xonotic, and my first tdm games was in NC.But making national cups with small communities pretty pointless.
