Will It Blend, that is the question. The chipset graphics I currently have can't do desktop cube properly, much less play Xonotic at decent framerate. So I feel like getting a new one. Will it blend with Ubuntu Desktop 10.10?

That was... not exactly the kind of response I expected. Still, you'd probably get more penguin smoke. Or at least CD smoke. Or you'd destroy your blender and/or end up with a penguin/blender mini-mech with nvidia inside. How 'bout that.

Should work fine. Check nVidia's website to see if they have linux drivers for the card. If so, your good to go.

The good thing about nvidia is that they have reliable linux drivers. Their linux drivers are much better than any for the latest ati gpus (just a side note).
