The blue squares are because the servers are not up to date.
Update your git clone frequently (with ./all update and ./all compile), and test the game locally (chmap g-23 in the xonotic console)

Of course I am! I so fell in love with graphics etc :-P
But I've been so busy that I've not had time to test Xonotic with the updated files, but I think I have time today so I'll do it today
