I tweaked this config file specifically for my system mostly toning down the effects that aren't noticeable and cranking the ones that are. On my monitor's max resolution (1280 X 1024 @ 60.02Hz) the frame rate holds a consistent 50 frames per second. If you have hardware that is up to similar specs as mine, then you may want to use this. Obvious things like the player name (unless you really want to be name AFrigginNoob lol) and controls will need to be changed (unless you like my unusual settings).

Hardware this was tweaked for:
CPU: AM2+ AMD Phenom II X4 Black Edition 3.0 GHz
GPU: PCIE 2.0 Nvidia Geforce 9800GTX, 256 bit, GDDR3, 1 GB VRAM
RAM: 4 GB (2 X 2GB) DDR2 1066 MHz in dual channel
Video resolution: 1280 X 1024
Frames per second: 50 on most maps in campaign, should work well in multiplayer too. May slowdown on slightly on Slimepit revisited and as many as 12 frames on Starship. I'm currently trying to get rid of those slowdowns.

Warnings: I am not responsible if this blows your system up. Screwing with sliders that say custom in the video and effects GUI will get rid of some of the tweaks I made.

Notes:
Particle quality is maxed while particle distance is a third of the way up.
Soft shadows are enabled and at a higher resolution than what they were in the last Xonotic GIT I tried.
Many unnoticeable settings are toned down.
Decal distance is CRANKED (3000 distance!) and decals are set to fade over a 46 second period.
Gibs are set to disappear before they can idle for too long (4 seconds).
Gibs are set to fly up a little more.
Casings and bronze count is cranked (9999) and are set to disappear after 46 seconds.
Rail gun settings tweaked, though not really noticeable.
Screen turns red after getting fragged.
Offset mapping is tweaked slightly to give the textures more depth.
I still get some drops in Slimepit revisited and Starship, but nothing too crazy (if it does it usually doesn't last long) and the FPS stays playable.
Got a bit aggressive on the Player LOD, though when anything is in motion it's completely unnoticeable.
The fake motion blur effect is tweaked for 50fps and looks just as good as the real thing does in Crysis (well almost anyways)
This file as well as all the others included with Nexuiz 2.5.2 and Xonotic is under GPL.

Future plans:
Strip it down to only include graphics/effects settings.

Wouldn't let me upload the config as an attachment, so I have to post it in this response instead. Paste it to a text file and name it config.cfg. After that move the file to your home/.nexuiz/data folder if your using Linux. If your using Windows then move it to the data folder of your Nexuiz directory.

I'm still tweakn' this actually. I'm tempted to raise the frame cap to 50, but then the slowdowns on Starship and Slimepit will seem over the top, if I do that however I can get the motion blur to look good with the current tweaks I have on my game. Hmm... I also tried raising it to 60 and toning down a few of the more noticeable things, but then I got some MAD video ripping, that's what made me decide to keep it at 46-50 fps. Enabling VSync makes it slowdown and/or causes lag too.

ya , 45-50 fps is fine to play at , its funny how some people say ,IVE GOT 200,000 FPS , I RULE!
i used esteels settings , then tweeked my own stuff , (1.7 single core , win xp , 256 graph , 1.2 ram )
me gets 50 to 100 fps , all runs fine.

UPDATED AGAIN.

Starship still slows down by as many as 10 frames in the campaign mode at times, but other than that I'm satisfied with these tweaks. The fake motion blur was a bit tricky since it can go either way in hiding or revealing choppiness, but at the end of the day looks better than the real thing does in many other games like Crysis (OK maybe not better, but it still looks pretty damn good) and really adds to the feel of the game. Another cool thing I did was find the LOD for the character models which allowed me to boost the performance a little bit which probably allowed me to raise the frame cap to 50 and set the particle distance to where I wanted it and I got the reflections to look pretty good as well. Only thing left to do is clean the file up so that all you have to do run the exec command to get the graphics settings it has.

Some ideas I have for improving the look of the game when Xonotic arrives would be to pre-tweak the motion blur for different frame rates starting with 30 (if it's doable, the game really wouldn't be playable on anything less than 35 anyways, but I'll see what I can do) going all the way up to 200 in intervals of 10 and make a slider for it in the GUI in addition to an option for capping the fps similar to what Urban Terror does in it's settings.
