Trick question. You're running GNOME 4 beta, which is just for looking at.

Here's my KDE 4.8 on Arch:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

That background by the way is from the Whitsunday islands off the coast of Queensland. I took the picture in April.

Seems rather tiny.

Imageshack has become such a pain to use. You need javascript to zoom in. But in this case I guess you forgot to tell it not to resize your image...

No, I'd already resized down to 960x600 to reduce bandwidth as I'm sure everyone can kind of get the idea without seeing a 1:1 representation ;-)

That is the Imageshack standard thumbnail size too.

When I zoom in, I get a 150x94 image. I can't seem to find an image that's larger than that in the linked page.

OK, well you'll just have to imagine I have a 150x94 pixel monitor then. Can't be bothered going through Imageshack again.

Personally I prefer imageshack cause they got a nice desktop uploader app. I hate it when I have to upload files through a webpage.

Imgur and Omploader have these too, heh.

Good to know, but they're mostly DIY bash scripts, whereas imageshack's uploader is written in qt and is available from the repos.

heres mine

uploaded to my ubuntu one account

using mint kde with kde 4.7.4

the background is one of kdes defaults ... but I use it everywhere else too
I blured some of the sticky note that have some passwords and such

panel widgets going from top down ...

-startmenu
-chrome (that I just realized i never click on anyways ... I use alt-f2 run)
-desktop switcher (use scroll wheel to switch desktops)
-window list (with chrome for this post ... dolphin file manager ... konsole ... ocular for some pdf thing i had open at the time ... quassle irc)
-popout spell checker
-timer
-color picker (by far the most useful thing on the panel)
-popout calculator (doesn't really work very well with this version of kde ... for some reason)
-system tray
-clock
-shutdown and sleep icons (that I just realized I dont use those either ...)

Well at least you don't have to worry about Windows automatically installing the wrong driver for you!

hutty: passwords in clear on your screen? Ow. I guess that means they are also in clear in a text file somewhere in your homedir. Double ow.

(Also, isn't it possible to change the text color in these notes? I'd have trouble remembering the TODOs if they were black on black Tongue)

So glad to use monsterwm instead of XFCE! Big Grin Soo much better with tiling, and faster ofc. I'll post a screenshot when I'm done with the configuration of my term and then I've installed a panel bar. Smile
