[DM] Codex

Hi!

This is a port of "DM-Codex" from Unreal Tournament 1999 to Xonotic.

No conversion tools were used.
The map was made by running UnrealEd and NetRadiant side by side. As a result, the geometry of this map is broadly similar to that of the original.
However, this port has been tweaked to suit Xonotic’s gameplay, and includes some additional details.

Credits and Licence

The original UT99 map was created by Cliff Bleszinski and is the intellectual property of Epic Games, Inc.
As such, this map is a fan-made port and is not subject to any licence.

However, the map source is included in the PK3.

All textures are licensed under the GPLv3 (Xonotic stock textures + one custom texture).

Already a first update, thanks Kotangens, Mirio, Kyle and DetectivePikachu for their feedback!
I might try some bigger changes in a future version - Pika suggested replacing some lifts with portals - but first I’d be interested in some DM or TDM playtesting.

Changes in Codex_v2:
  • Scaled the BSP by a factor of 1,10 (the map was too cramped).
  • Fixed some locations where players could get stuck (stairs, lamps).
  • Added small crates for a better access to the Strength + Crylink platform.
  • Disabled water reflections in the .mapinfo, as they looked bad.
  • Fixed off-centred lights and a few misaligned textures.
