Before posting a map release, make sure that you are posting a map that is ready to be used and reviewed. If your map is still in the development stages (like beta or pre-beta) then it's probably too early to post it under the map releases forum.
The Xonotic community has a lot of people who are willing to test and give feedback to maps before they are announced publicly. Team Xonotic actually encourages this and we have a process setup just for this purpose. If you want to get your map tested to help refine it before you release it, then go to this thread in the Xonotic Maps forum.
