[SUGGESTION] Character customisability

One thing I noticed about Nexuiz that I thought was lacking was the amount of customizability for one's character.
It's not an important issue in Xonotic now but I was curious.

How do others feel towards the idea?

Personally I like the idea of customization allowing lots of choice (soul calibur 4).
At the same time, to be limited by the overall style of the game. i.e to prevent players from going completely overboard with ridiculous characters.

unfortunately, that would take a LOT of resources and time, and isn't high on the priority list.

however, something that might be a little easier and more feasible is to make the colors you select appear on your character in the preview window.

I still have no idea what I look like yet so yes that sounds ideal for now.

YESS! I thought I was the only one with that idea. How hard would this be? Coding?

divVerent tried to get a 3d preview of the model in the menu but it did not work afaik.
