My first thought:
Sounds like tab-out simulator for me.

My second thought:
I know nothing about sailing. There's probably more to sailing.

My third thought:
It has realistic depth, but I need unrealistic environments.

My fourth thought:
Plenty of Germans in Xonotic.

I think this is awesome. If you like Xonotic, you probably also like the Sailing Simulator.

Is it compatible with the Fishing Simulator? That would be a blast. Bunny hopping from steering wheel to fishing rod all along.
