New website skin!

Hey everyone,

As many of you know, I've been steadily working on a new theme for our main website, xonotic.org. As of just about two minutes ago, it's live! I hope you like it, and I welcome your feedback. You probably don't need the URL, but I'll put it here anyway: it can be found here.

One thing to note is that I'm not done. I realize that the media page (videos/pics) isn't what it should be right now, and the same goes for some of the older pages. I'll be getting to those in time! Thank you everyone for your support - you are all fantastic!

Awesome! Nice size-dependant layout, too! I don't know how that's done technically so I can't really provide details, but around 850px of width the layout is rather odd... Large negative space under the carousel.

Just a note: "Maps, new and old!" Old sounds negative, or should I say bad? Please change that to something like "Maps, new aswell as classics".

If that isen't to much work of course, and again great job!

Are we allowed to post our suggestions here? Or shall we further wait with that?

I think it could be cool if over time the graphical resources could be changed to match "Luminos".

The layout is really nice though, but i feel like the text should be slightly smaller.

Thanks for the feedback! Here are some things I've done and comments:

- updated the text to say "Linux, Mac, and Windows"
- changed the first image in the carousel to a pic with more things going on
- changed the maps text to say "classic" instead of "old" (good catch )
- I don't feel that the font is too big. We'll see if any others disagree
- Luminos theme was done for stats, but it breaks compatibility with IE. I don't feel like we need to unify the in-game UI with the web anyway. I want to keep the site clean and simple.

Just noticed something rather terrible.

When you're on any page other than the landing page there's a little xonotic logo in the navbar. Since this image has been scaled down without being manually adjusted it looks very fuzzy.

Could you possibly use the circular variant of the logo as a temporary fix, possibly with the placeholder text "home" next to it?

I've rendered a monochrome version of the xonotic icon at the same height as the image you were using.

Fantastic website. It's clean, very smart designed, informative, not nerdish - amazing. I love the fact, that you decided that less is more and games are sold by pics and videos, not by tons of text.

Antibody - you can be proud man!

In the feature tab under game-modes it might be good to mention vehicles.

I didn't know that existed!
It's based on the xonotic_icon.svg distributed with the game, i just made some manual adjustments for legibility (such as increasing the size of the eye)

Yeah, not everybody knows about this source link. Which is why I refer to it every time I get the chance
