You've to join in #xonotic QuakeNet channel, if you want to chat with everyone.
Join in #xonotic.pickup QuakeNet channel if you're going to challenge for a duel against someone, but they say that isn't the same as Discord. If you can't do this, join in Xonotic Discord and challenge inside #xonotic_pickup.
