mw2 maps?

Hey how hard would it be to take maps from other games and restructure them for the dp engine? my idear is to take popular maps from other fps and add some nex/xon flavor. there are so many maps out there that would work for this game. oh and is it possible to get the dp engine anywhere? i wanna start making maps but dont know where to begin...

Do you have a xonotic dev build? If you want to learn mapping, it might be simpler to start with Nexuiz as it's a finished product and it doesn't involve compiling everything.

If you have any mapping question, even Nexuiz, you can ask on the Xonotic - Editing forum on this board. Do have a look at the topics there too, they are mostly relevant to Nexuiz mapping too.

Such conversions are usually illegal. Doesn't stop you from doing it anyway and host them on map repositories - your responsibility. But such maps certainly can't come included with Xonotic.

He got it up and running once he realized netradient comes with nexuiz, hehe, and I don't think he's looking to do a direct conversion of mw2 maps, but I don't think we have any warzone looking maps for nexiuz or xonotic, It would be cool.
