I'm starting a separate thread to not bloat MirceaKitsune's thread, where this discussion started (thanks to aa for giving me detailed feedback, so I can improve this track).
Here's OLD version 10 (looped for Xonotic):
http://unfamusic.com/5h1+/unfa-RocketJump.ogg Vorbis
https://soundcloud.com/unfa/rocket-jump Same on Soundcloud
Here's NEW version A03 (looped for Xonotic):
http://unfamusic.com/5h1+/unfa-RocketJump-A03.flac 16-bit FLAC
http://unfamusic.com/5h1+/unfa-RocketJump-A03.ogg Vorbis, quality 4
http://unfamusic.com/5h1+/unfa-RocketJump-A03.mmpz Source for LMMS 1.0.0
I marked it with A to start numbers from 1 as it's a major change (like from 1.0 to 2.0).
Changes between 10 and A03:
- tempo raised from 133 to 144 BPM (150 felt too fast, and unnatural);
- bass and bassdrum quiter in the mix;
- new lead and support instruments;
- new FX instruments: explosion, raise FX, wind noise FX;
- more melodies;
- more textures (quiet rhytmical lines to fill the mix and add some tension;
- a few drumline enhancements (random extra hits here and there to make it more lively);
- an extra segment starting at 6:13 to break the boredom of all the same patterns repeating over and over;
