As an option that's present within the game as opposed to being forced by another application. The perk would be to see both, portions of the game, and other windows like forums, etc. (Some games will minimize a borderless windowed mode game to taskbar on alt-tab, which kind of defeats the purpose.)
Depending on the other application, parts of the screen might get cut off, like the timestamps, download queue for Xonotic. But right now Borderless Gaming works for Xonotic correctly.
