[NEED HELP] low fps on 2080 super

hello, i've downloaded xonotic a few days ago, and i am absolutely in love. but i keep getting fps drops when zooming or in certain maps. i understand this game runs on darkplaces, and maybe it has something to do with that. anyways  the first few frames of zooming, or when opening the pause menu are lower than 40 fps, and on maps such as rig the games stutters terribly. i have already added the game to the nvidia control panel. i have the latest drivers for my GPU, the latest BIOS for my motherboard and the latest windows build. any help?

i already did try lower settings (i forgot to mention that on the post), and it fixes most of the drops, but the stuttering is still there.

Maybe your cpu is the bottleneck... xonotic doesn't have multicore rendering and so you're down to 1 cpu where the speed matters.

I had some similar problem with the old laptops to test Xonotic, the result is: CPU can't go more. Due to this, the CPUs were 1.6Ghz Intel Celeron Dual Core and the result of the performance was bad for the game. These laptops didn't have DirectX 10.
