What is the map editor of choice these days? (in 2026) Is NetRadiant still the editor of choice?

Hello, NetRadiant remains the recommended editor and works very well for Xonotic mapping: https://netradiant.gitlab.io/
I'd recommend building NetRadiant from source if you can, as the latest pre-compiled version is now quite old (2022), and both NetRadiant and the Xonotic gamepack have been updated since then.

However, NetRadiant-custom – which is a popular fork of NetRadiant – also works straight out of the box and offers many quality-of-life features: https://github.com/Garux/netradiant-custom
