What IRC client do you use?

#1
=D I've been trying to find a really good simple IRC client that is free, so I thought I'd just see what everyone else uses. I've been using Chatzilla for awhile.

I use chatzilla. Not as an addon, but as a standalone program. On Windows.

irssi is everything you need and nothing extra. But you'll probably want another client if you're not on Linux.

It's a Windows only client. It's awesomely small and simple.

I use Opera, for IE is a pain, and Firefox is slower on Windows.

Opera has a built in IRC client, and the IRC interface is really neat. Sorry about the ambiguity. I have trouble describing its awesomeness. Try Opera, and you'll understand.
My will be done.

WeeChat really beats a lot of other clients.. quite nice plugins and easily extended too. And looks very good with default settings Smile

I use pidgin, I don't want 2 separate apps just for chatting Smile

I've have used many many clients
Some I remember now... mirc, chatzilla (extension and standalone version), xchat, irssi, weechat, 0irc, kvirc, mibbit, hydrairc, pidgin, trillian, azureus plugin. And probably more...
But right now I use xchat.. it's the most simple stable gui client imo. I'm a big gui fan.

pidgin.

But i don't use IRC too often. Like 3 times per year. IRC is too retarted. Dumb channel ops who ban without good reason.

I'm usually using an XMPP-IRC transport and using my XMPP client (Psi). If I need a fully blown irc client then it's XChat for me ;-).
