[DM]8-bit Arena DM NEXBALL CTF

A very small, experimental map. You might have seen pictures and a video here on the forum.

Nexball/Ons/Ctf version is finally here!

4th: Preview image is missing Sad
5th: the "portal" doorway edges have the awful "checkerboard" texture. Probably forgotten it?

Wow, wuzzy, such usefull first posts are scarce!

But about the map, I played a game on it (overkill dm).
-Layout is perfect.
-Gameplay on this map is very funny, and really fast. The middle is a sort of pit of death Tongue and the ring is a place to restore some health.
Didn't see item placement yet. That's the only thing that might be a little hard here. If you don't watch out the one who picks up the mega is in a huge control, and will easily continue spawnkilling.

Mapimage should be there, but I've made amistake in mapinfo file, that's why it doesn't show up in the menu.
However, the texture should be there, are you sure you've loaded up the right pk3?

Also, CTF, ONS, and NEXBALL!!! version is coming. Stay tuned!

TRIPLE POST FTW!

So, new version up. Please, test the map locally, as Cortez and me had some odd stuttering in local in CTF/NExball mode - online, I haven't experienced that.
Please, report if you have that, and how bad it is.

I just tried it locally and the performance is really bad. Sad I think 20 fps is the maximum that I got.

DM or teamplay modes?

Ok, thx to divVerent and tZork, we've found the issue, that we could effectively work around (almost really FIX), new pk3 might be up soon with fixes!

CTF. With this current version it improved to 30 fps. Big Grin DM used to work fine some versions ago so I did not try that.

DM should really not suffer from any of those issues, as the rest of the map simply doesn't even get rendered or spawned at all.

I today played this map with ultra settings, and omfg, it looks awesome. Everything worked fine, and I didn't find any issues.

I think it definetely should become an official default map.

Though there's still some work to do on the map, I realy hope I can find time to finish it in the next 2 weeks, so it'll be merge requested before X-Mas Smile
