Oh my! Miles over my head with your tecnique. I've no formal training in piano at all, and not so much looked at any tutorials online. Nice to see some excellent music though. Thanks for the share.

Yes, and I am working on something new too that will be as well piano solo, even though probably my first piano solo recording that I actually prepared myself for :o)
But after that I'll try to dig into electronic music again.
@Koshka: thanks for the praise taking lessons definitely helps from the technical side, but I feel the most I learnt about music in general is from actively playing classical music. But it is impressive to see how far you got without any formal training. I'd recommend to think about taking lessons since there seems to be some talent there and you could develop that. :o)
Halogene: Love the strong piano in "Another Random Improvisation", I would try to base your in-game tracks off of your piano. Stairs is my favorite included track atm, because it has that cinematic classical feel to it, modernized with the electric guitar loop. That's one of the biggest giveaways of homemade music is the abuse of the heavy metal guitar tracks as the focus (it's ok for drum loops to be in the background, because that's what they do anyway). The most prevalent sound shouldn't be a static loop, it should be something with a bit of change in it, like da piano A solemn track would be a nice change from the 12000 bpm super-vibe-dance-metal stuff.
Anyone got any GOOD metal guitar only samples? I've got some from garageband, logic, elsewhere.... The guitar instruments of logic are pretty fake sounding even with amp distortion/others to make it more real.
Though those samples are suitable for rhythmic accentuations rather than lead guitar.
Thank you nowego - the problem is that when I try to do in-game tracks the approach is totally different. With piano improvisations I just sit down and start to play and if I am lucky I have recording on when something interesting happens. In-game tracks need a lot of coordination and planning, which is difficult for me to do. But I could of course try to replay parts of the improvisations and to implement them. I'll see what I can do once I've finished my current project (which will be released on soundcloud, too).
Also, this thread is a little cumbersome. I want to collaborate, but we need a better way to do so. At the very least a "Xonotic - Music & Audio" folder to have various threads going on.
There are too many separate conversations going on in this one thread!

Yes, a seperate forum subfolder seems to be reasonable. Anyone in charge able to do that?
WashYourSoul sounds nice, but I already told this elsewhere.
A pretty much more heavy/deep kick (i.e. containing more bass) would give more thickness to the track, imho.
