I mean, what's your anthem in hard times, when you feel down, what gives you enough power again to carry on?
Nowadays I hum these two songs:
VNV Nation: Vaerum aeternus:
http://www.vnvnation.com/Webfiles/lyrics.../verum.htm
VNV stands for "Victory, Not Vengence". This means, "One should strive to achive; not sit in bitter regret."
The other one is from Assemblage 23:
Spark

"One should strive to achieve; not sit in bitter regret."

There's nothing better than getting off you butt and contributing to a community. There is no excuse when it comes to computers. Spend a little of you playing time, giving back

IF i'm really down, usually accompanied by blazing rage, i listen to the most hardcore metal or techno or junk that i can find.... and after that i feel like a pink poodle puppy. Then, to get myself earthed again, i listen to noise.
4m038105 - Be the change.

And suddenly, Danny decided he didn't have enough posts.

yeah sorry about that. got a piece of homework back teach said he couldn`t read it so I`ll have to rewrite the whole essay. I say lame things as a coping mechanism.
Aw. Sucks
"Not read it", is it handwritten or something?

Meh, I have master thesis on a finish and don't quite spam that much. But I do look for ways to avoid finishing that.
And on topic, a while of playing Xonotic does help me to clear mind enough if I lost focus of writing.

"Not read it", is it handwritten or something? yeah it was an 8 page essay on 14th century france. i´ve been having to do a total of 5 of these for each century up to the 16th century in order to finish off my semester for one of my subjects and I spent the night doing the research for this one only to have my professor say he wouldn´t mark it until it was legible. Which is fair enough I guess.

I'm inspired by Mr Bougo's beard. That's him in the sig right?
The people that really inspire me (sorry Mr B) in the tech world are small indie devs/modders like Notch and people who go against the grain.
In the music world, I'm inspired by Iron Maiden (especially Steve Harris and Bruce Dickinson, I mean Bruce is a pilot, singer, song writer and more) and Axl Rose (a bad tempered man with an ego the size of my cabbage patch, but he's always talked about believing in yourself and shit like that ).
But when I'm down... I listen to this! And this! And possibly even this!
In the 'normal' world, I'm inspired by those who do work for charities and want to make the world a better place (like Che Guevara did). Oh and fyi, I'm not a communist.

Masterpiece. Hey, you know I went on TV once with the actor that plays one of the paramedics who is with Gilmour when he gets his jab (in the music video for Comfortably Numb).

Love the Bruce Lee story. Come to think of it, I bought Tao of Jeet Kun Do a few years ago and never read it. I may have to dig that one out, I forgot all about it.
I realize this thread was intended to be about a song that picks me up, but since I'm a grown(and admittedly somewhat jaded) man that doesn't seem to happen anymore. So....I'm inspired by a vast number of Youtube guitarists, namely classical and neo-classical. Their skill and musical compositions are amazing, but they will probably never reach any level of notoriety beyond youtube famous, or some just mildly youtube popular. Their musical talent inspires me to play more and learn techniques that I might not otherwise attempt to learn.
