Seeing as these forums have a section devoted to saying hello, here I am! Hello, all.
I was "monster munch" on the old alienTRAP forums, gamely playing along in Nexuiz using an old PlayStation joypad. Looks like that was about 4 years ago. Having installed Mint on my soon to be replaced PC, I spotted Nexuiz in Synaptic, got a rush of nostalgia, then remembered that Xonotic happened. A quick Google later, and I'm on - joy! It's just like I remember!
So, congratulations and thanks to all concerned with creating/maintaining Xonotic - it really is a stunning piece of work, and oh so much fun to play.
Aside from the blistering fast gameplay (and repeated arse-kickings), what kept me playing Nexuiz was the welcoming, friendly community, so it was with great pleasure that the first player that I ran into in my first game of Xonotic was Halogene, who was very welcoming, offered advice, and directed me to his newbie guides - what a gent (he also shot me dead, but that's what I came for!).
So, yeah, hi all. I look forward to much happy fragging.
