Duel World Championship 2013

Something happened?

Lack of interest. 47 people voted in the poll actually!
Plus I get sick of Duel Duel Duel and have so much other stuff on my list.
I'll see.

I would love to see how it all goes. Don't give up on it. Many players are willing to play.

Alright so we have all 16 participants now!

I will open a new thread soon about the first phase of the WC.

Groups are going to be announced tomorrow after the NA Duel Cup (possibly live on stream)!

First of all we will start off with a group stage.
Important: Different map picking!!

Quick facts:
- 1v1 Duel (XPM)
- Servers: UC, no DCC!
- Timelimit 10, no fraglimit
- Modus: 4 groups á 4 players (Best of 3 matches). Top 2 advance to a Single Elimination bracket. [If players achieve the same scores, then the player who won the match between them is going to move on]
- Mappicking: Drop-Drop-Drop-Drop-Pick-Pick at Bo3
- Mappool: Stormkeep, Fuse, Final Rage, Silent Siege, Downer, Warfare, Darkzone
- Date/time: 29th July 2013 until 12th August 2013

I went to ask every participant two questions:

1. What is your goal for the tournament?
2. Who are your favourites?

These are the answers:

Mossepo:
1. Final
2. ZeRoQL and Smilecythe. I don't think the rest can make it on a Bo5 game. But Mirio, shogun assassin and Draelor can make a surprise.

Mirio:
1. I wanted to be in Top 3, but with Smilecythes surprising appearance it will be even more tough.
2. ZeRoQL, Mossepo, Smilecythe.

Hot Dog:
1. Making a crowd I guess, so it looks like people actually participating in the tournaments.
2. As for top two.. hard to tell. ZeRoQL, Smilecythe and Mossepo I quess.

kuniuthefrogg:
1. Let’s be honest, with that lineup I’m not going to advance from group stage.
2. ZeRoQL and Mossepo.

Debugger:
1. My goals for this tournament are to have fun and to play some decent matches.
2. I think ZeRoQL/Mirio/Draelor/Mossepo are really strong players. But I don’t really have a personal favourite at the moment...

ZeRoQL:
1. My goal is to win it ofc.
2. Mossepo and Smilecythe.

SlyxT:
1. My goal is to be not the worst in my group.
2. Mirio and Debugger because they are in UC, ZeRoQL because I believe he is going to win and Draelor because I approve his MG skills!

stdi:
1. Ideally to win, realistically to go onto the brackets.
2. Mossepo first, ZeRoQL second, Smilecythe third.

shogun assassin:
1. I'd like to make it to top 3 to be visible.
2. I don't believe 1) much so I predict on 1. ZeRoQL, 2. Draelor, 3. Mossepo, my favourite is ZeRoQL... not because I predict he'll win but because he's one cool serb<beeeeeeep censord>.

Draelor:
1. I play for fun. Of course, i would like to win and i hope to get in top 4, but the point is to have some good matches
2. I think, ZeRoQL and Mossepo are strongest players here. Probably one of them will win this tourney.

Smilecythe:
1. Not so into vanilla so I guess it's to come to like it more.
2. Mossepo because he got me little bit into it in the first place.

machine:
1. My goal, beat shogun assassin, Hot Dog, kuniuthefrogg, specialone, Debugger, SlyxT, SpiKe, stdi, FOXYjouk, Justin, Draelor, if I meet them.
2. End result I think will be 1. Mossepo 2. ZeRoQL 3. Mirio.

specialone:
1. I pray if I arrive 2nd on my group.
2. Hmm ZeRoQL.

Justin:
1. I am playing to match my skills against strongest players.
2. I think it's gonna be Mossepo. He's been practicing a lot lately and I don't see any reason why he shouldn't be on the top. Even comparing to ZeRoQL skills and Smilecythe movement.

FOXYjouk:
1. My goal is to play my best game, and win the whole damned thing!
2. Realistically, I will not win. ZeRoQL will win, Mossepo second place, Mirio third.

SpiKe:
1. If I could go into the bracket, I'd be very happy. :>
2. My favorites are PsyX members, ofc ! No, Mossepo!

If ZeRoQL practices enough and is active for it he should win the final 3-1! If not then it can become a toss-up, he has the best ability imo to win this looking at his tourney and finals record, played and beaten all the top players.

Would like to see Draelor/Smilecythe/Mossepo all do well also, and maybe one of them will prove me wrong

I am up for casting whatever i can, streaming is up to the mirioman though
Probably stream will happen closer to finals.
