PROJECT: Dota 2 for Linux

#1
Yo

Apparently, I have too much free time on my vacation so I decided to make a project like this. It was meant to be like "a tiny hobbyproject" to train my programming skills (I have programmed less than a year, 5 months with C), but it seems like there are actually several people who are interested in this project...

http://dota2linux.dy.fi/ (URL is temp, will get .net or .org in the future)

As a code, it is not very complex (yeah, I'm a beginner). More script-like, but it actually is very useful and working. But what do you think about this, anyone interested? Big Grin

No, any sane person would go to your site, read what You wrote, visit the Dota site that You link to on Your site and see what the game is like, what i just did, after realizing my stupidity.

Ignore some things i say.

This project is now officially cancelled. The reason is that Valve is developing an official native version of Steam and Source engine for Linux, and therefore this installer is useless. See more information here: [Phoronix] Valve's Gabe Newell Talks Linux Steam Client, Source Engine

My previously mentioned "secret" was that I was making a new installer which supports all Source engine games, not just Dota 2. It was progressing nicely, but now there is simply just no idea to continue with developing. You can find the unpublished project site here: Source4Linux

But you're right, he should stop this as soon as possible because Valve is launching Steam for Linux.
