I was once inspired to add some background elements to Xonotic, with a few of them here is the first version for an other single player mode with a 2 lines story for each level.
To play it put the attached file in your data dir, ~/.xonotic/data/data/maps/. The texts don't fit in the preview window, you can read them entirely once the map is loaded before you join the game. Each level has an "in game" plot and some "out of character" info to play the game better.
This is a really unpolished version to discover the game before going online with a short plot. Feel free to modify it, I don't know when I will enhance it.
I know some map miss bot waypoints. If I have time and energy for it I can do some of them.
