Hello Xonotic Community,
this will be the first CTF quick cup and the first quick cup with teams consisting of more than 2 members. Therefore I hope that you may forgive us some mistakes and as yet missing information.
We open this thread now to give you the possibilty to look for a team or create a team yourself. If you look for teammates you can use this forum, IRC and the game itself as well as asking friends.
If you don't want to seek a team before the tournament starts, you'll still have the option to join the IRC channel mentioned below and look for teammates.
- 3vs3 CTF (no XPM)
- Servers will be added in time (probably uc and DCC)
- Timelimit 15, caplimit 10, bo1 (bo3 in finals probably)
- We are going to wait for the number of signed in teams until we decide the mode (Group Stage / KO Stage)
- Mappicking: Drop-Drop at Bo1, Pick-Pick at Bo3
- Mappool: Runningman, Spatium, bluez vs redz
- Date/time: Sunday, 17th February 2013 18:00 CET (12:00 PM EST; 4:00 AM AET)
- Admins: Diomedes, Mirio
- Skill level: any
Just join #exile.xonotic.cup (IRC QuakeNet) at the given date if you want to participate. No registration somewhere needed!
Finally I'l like you to spread the word of this cup, i.e. on the public CTF servers.
Updates on server list and map pool will be announced in this thread.
P.S.: If you found a team and your team is complete, please post here so we know about the estimated amount of teams. You can also post here if you are looking for a team.

No.
1. I think it's unlikely that there will be so many people that 4v4 would make sense.
2. The map pool will be chosen for 3v3.
3. It takes some time to build up a community. It's better to start it small, if this one will be successful, the next one might be 4v4.

No, we thought about this but refused to do so mainly for two reasons:
1. We don't expect any out-of-league team to participate. This is because all existing clans have no experience in playing CTF together and we don't think any of the new teams will be that strong.
2. Random teams would have no teamplay because they have never played together. This would just mean that the team with the best individual CTF players would win. However, we want to award teamplay in this cup. By allowing you to form teams before the cup starts we give you the opportunity to practice together as a team. This way your team might beat an individually stronger team due to teamplay.

It got the most players.
The people need to set up teams for 3v3, so 4v4 does not make sense.
