XQC #87 (2v2 TDM)

Get you clans ready, it's time to party!
I will be hosting a 2v2TDM cup on the 26th May (2018-05-26) starting at [https://time.is/UTC](3PM UTC). Map pool is yet to be decided, but please put suggestions below. I am still undecided on whether to use custom rulesets for the arc or not. It'd be nice to see some games and see how the weapon plays, but at the same time I know a lot of people wouldn't play with weird rules in place : Say your opinion down below please, or somewhere to me on IRC (ccCam).
Not certain on server locations right now. But depending on players there will be a few dotted around Europe. The structure for the cup will be simple double elimination, BO3 upper bracket, and BO1 lower with the grand finals being BO5.

You'll need to be on #xonotic.cup at the time of the event to checkin.

So, I hope to see a bunch of new clans forming, and old teams reuniting for this cup, and if you want to have a weird map in the pool then I'm all for it. Suggestions to me please and GL HF.

We will be using slot's Arc balance for this cup to give feedback on it and hopefully make a good move to Arc being a main weapon.

I'd rather not use arc for competitive games atm, its balance is yet to be found.

Stormkeep is a must have imo, because everyone should know it.
Boil is designed for 2v2 rather than Duel, Cucumber could be good, maybe Graphite and Sinister.

I suppose the pickup servers can be used for this, just vcall 2v2tdm.

A couple of years ago, SPLAT, Islin, some other dude and I, tried sinister for a 2v2tdm, it was remarkably good. Please consider that as well.

Unfortunately, I'm playing a tournament at this exact time, so I can't attend.
But im definitely gonna watch the stream when I can ^_^ Nice initiative dude.

If we never use arc for competitive games, we won't be able to find a good balance. There have been cups with experimental balances before, so why not try the arc out in a cup?

Cause it doesn't feel good to get killed with one shot when you have 100 hp 100 armor... Idk, up to organizers of course.

Exactly the point, a fun cup to test balance. Nobody is playing it at all right now and it needs testing.
