Some really impressive quality of work here, xonotic should have some really fine maps, more so CTF at the moment.

Just had some suggestions for Cortez666. I think it's looking like a pretty good start Smile. You might benefit from looking at the style of CTF maps that threewave did for Doom3 CTF, the eX set is somewhat similar. I'd agree with strahlemann that the texturing in that last shot is looking a little funky - it might be a good idea to stick with just eX, or at least re-hue the other textures to match the same color palette. I tried really hard to find screenshots of d3 ctf maps but they apparently don't exist on the internet anymore... Some references for what I'm talking about in the screenshots:

Kaz, your screenshots look really good! (I think they belong to the "inspiration for maps" thread Tongue)
Are they from doom?

btw: in my opinion it isnt very simple to break up some areas and give them another "color" than gray, the texture packs are mostly gray Wink

They're from Quake 4. I should also note that they are definitely NOT mine, I just posted them for reference Tongue.

I'd definitely agree with you that it can be difficult to start mucking about with modifying the textures and whatnot - I might be able to help out with that if I get the time. Smile

I just love the colorscheme on this one. I mean the yellowish afternoon light gives it a peaceful look, so unusual in fps games ;-).

Very interesting architecture, as usual, Rad =)
Texture work aren't quite on the same level of awesome as the geometry tough (like that moaré grate on the last screeny, and that square filled texture on the top of the support pillars don't quite do it for me).

All in all, sweet progress. Make the texture work and lighting as interesting as the architecture and we have a really cool map upcoming Smile
