I have an older ViewSonic G7fmb with a 1280 X 1024 resolution.
Thats what I used to tell myself before I got My 22" LCD
I had an old 21" Sony it weighed 70 lbs and slurped around 150watts of power. I don't miss it.

Every LCD I screwed around with including the Samsung Sync Masters that my tech school had lagged too much. They also don't handle non-native resolutions (640 X 480 on a 180 X 1024 CRT actually looks like 640 X 480, on an LCD it looks like blocks) very well, have bad blacks, and unless you have a damn good HDMI cable (high speed) you'll be looking at some motion blur. As soon as I find one, I'll get a CRT with a higher than 1080i resolution.
I am still amazed that both screens seem to be used as touch screens.

Honestly, I almost never turn the light on in my room, so it's pretty hard to see the smudges. Only when the light comes on do I notice, and at that point I'm already on my way out/late.
Me I have:
a core i7 overclocked to 4GHZ
16 GB of DDR3 RAM 1333
and 3 ATI 5890s in Crossfire
lol I wish!
I have a more down to earth system that's fairly high end, but only because I built it to replace the Pentium 4 HT and Geforce 7600 powered rig that lit up on me last year. Those specs are:
AMD Phenom II X4 Black Edition AM2+ Socket 3 GHZ
4 GB DDR2 1066 in dual channel
Nvidia Geforce 9800GTX 256 bit, 1GB of memory
Seagate Barracuda 320 GB 7500 RPM, IDE interface (salvaged from previous rig)
All this is powered by an honest to god $50 800 watt PSU (no joke)
and I got it all hooked up to a ViewSonic G70fmb CRT with a 1280 X1024 @ 60Hz refresh and a 5:4 ratio
and just like all the cool kids these days I got me a nice noob friendly Linux distro (Linux Mint Gloria 64 bit) instead of that WIndows crap that about made me pull my hair out for the last decade.
I havent changed my rig in ages.. and my work rig and home rig is pretty much exactly the same now... Athlon64 3000+ 3GB RAM, home 500G disk + 5TB fileserver, work 500GB disk, home 7600GS, work 6600, home rig is built to be silent.
I do have some 40 other computers as well, some slower, some waaay faster, but they are mostly used as servers. All servers sun linux, my workstations run windows (cause i need CS3).
home:
CRTs are now replaced with LCDs
work (allthough even these CRT babies are now replaced) (also note, old pic, stuff has been changed)
